Vitamin Research Products has been noted by GHI/MRI for investigation ever since they initiated business dealings with Discovery Experimental & Development Inc. (DEDI), over 8 years ago. DEDI developed and manufactured Silvicidal, which was later put on the market as a wholesale product and exclusively sold to specific dietary supplement companies. Mr. Watson was quite interested in purchasing DEDI's product after reviewing GHI/MRI's published book containing clinical trials, doctor reports, and customer reports regarding Silvicidal.

Mr. Watson then decided to order Silvicidal wholesale from DEDI. He later kept in communication with DEDI's president, James Kimball, constantly, as he was ordering and selling large amounts of DEDI's Silvicidal. It later became clear Mr. Watson was not satisfied with the tens of thousands of dollars profit he was attaining from the sales of Silvicidal.

Mr. Watson gradually, and quite smoothly, started asking Mr. Kimball questions about proprietary information used to produce Silvicidal. However, the polite smooth tone of the conversations changed rapidly when Mr. Kimball demanded to know why he wanted such information. Though Mr. Watson kept his tone cool and polite when requesting proprietary information, Mr. Kimball openly expressed his outrage.
